The US based Conference Board reported that US consumer confidence declined in January 2019 with its index falling from 126.6 in December 2018 to 120.2 this January (1985 = 100).
They further reported that 37.4% of consumers surveyed in January said that business conditions were good, unchanged December. They also reported that while 16.0% expected that business conditions would improve in the next six months this was down from 18.1% in December.
